THE organiser of the hugely-popular Midnight Ride have announced the vent is cancelled for 2020 because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Alan Lewis, owner of Adrenaline Sporting Events which organises the ride as well as 10K events in Oswestry and Welshpool, took to social media to confirm the event had been cancelled because of the outbreak after lengthy discussions with British Cycling.

In a post on Instagram, he said: "We are devastated to announce the Midnight Ride in 2020 has now been cancelled.

"We had discussions with British Cycling and this is the best way forward in uncertainty.

"The new date is Saturday, June 19 2021."

The Midnight Ride, which was founded in 2015, brings together an active community of people taking part in sporting events for reasons ranging from fitness, competition, charity, health, fun or to simply finish.

The participants vary from nervous first-timers of all ages through to competitive cyclists. Collectively, the ride has raised thousands of pounds for different charities.

The Midnight Ride aims to provide market leading and innovative event experiences and delivery.
