A TAUNTON-based barbershop chorus have featured on Australian radio.
A recording of the Rivertones Harmony Chorus singing Can You Feel the Love Tonight was aired on a Melbourne station alongside barbershoppers from across the United States.
Nick Thomas, a Rivertones veteran of nearly 20 years, had been due to visit relatives in Melbourne but had to cancel due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Nick was scheduled to give some tips to the Melbournaires, one of the top barbershop choruses Down Under, on running a Learn to Sing course.
He was expecting to pass on the experience of the Rivertones free course, which has just been suspended due to the current crisis.
Following the disappointment of his cancelled trip, Nick was contacted by Melbournaires' Roger Archman, who runs a radio show and agreed to play the Rivertones' song.
The Rivertones were five weeks into their course when it had to be suspended. However it will resume as soon as the pandemic is over.
In the meantime, the new singers are receiving regular updates and help to keep them singing
