M&S is expanding its range at the shop at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital.

The retailer says the move comes in a bid to ensure key workers in the NHS have access to fresh food and essentials.

M&S has 46 hospital stores, including Musgrove Park Hospital, and the products available are evolving to suit the needs of NHS workers on the frontline.

The firm has increased the size of daily deliveries to ensure core basics, including milk, bread and eggs, are available, and stock is replenished throughout the day.

Following feedback from NHS workers, M&S has also increased the range within hospital stores so that workers in Taunton can pick up their favourite M&S food to eat during their shift and to take home.

John Turner, head of region for M&S South West, said: “We are fully committed to supporting our fantastic NHS workers to ensure they have access to essential food and supplies while caring for our communities.

"We’ve had incredibly positive feedback from M&S hospital stores to date, highlighting that they are well stocked, and that our colleagues continue to go above and beyond to help in these challenging times.

"We will be constantly monitoring stock and demand in each store to ensure they are fully prepared to support our frontline workers.”

Changes within the M&S hospital store in Taunton also includes receiving more personal care items such as toothpaste, toilet roll and sanitary items.

The food range has also been substantially expanded to include meat and fish, with staples like salmon, chicken and mince introduced, along with fresh produce.

A wider range of prepared meals are also available, the majority of which can be frozen, so NHS workers can now stock-up on M&S favourites like Chicken Tikka Masala, Macaroni Cheese and Beef Lasagne.

M&S will also continue to provide breakfast and lunchtime options, along with hot drinks, including coffee machines at Musgrove.
