WHITCHURCH-based engineering firm Landia is back in business, after reopening their Chinese branch following the lifting of coronavirus restrictions.

Their office, based in Shanghai, has also already accepted an order for one of the firm's chopper pumps, destined for a farm in the northern part of the country.

The 18.5kW pumps are for an expanding business, that purchased its first unit from Landia five years ago.

Landia UK’s Howard Burton said he was glad that his colleagues in China were finally able to get back to work.

“We’ve been very worried about our hard-working colleagues in China," said Howard. "So it is great to see them now able to start getting their lives back to normal.

"The lockdown they endured was much stricter than ours.

"We have kept in touch through video conferencing – and can see that they’ve still been working hard behind the scenes to create new enquiries and orders for Landia.

“Everyone is understandably relieved to return to work properly and be able to carry on with business.

"At Landia UK we are very proud of our fellow workers in China."
