TWO more people have died from COVID-19 while in the care of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital (SaTH) Trust.

It means SaTH’s death toll from the virus is now 36.

In the statement released on Thursday, a spokesman for the hospital offered support to the families.

They said: "Sadly we can confirm that 36 patients being cared for at our hospitals, and who had tested positive for COVID-19, have died. Two of those have been announced today.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of those patients at this very difficult and distressing time."

SaTH covers the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
