POLICE are attempting to track down a motorist who ignored officers ordering them to stop.
Officers had followed the suspect after they became suspicious about the way the vehicle was being driven.
But when they tried to stop the car, the driver sped off and was lost to sight.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "Police officers had become suspicious of the way a car - a black Nissan Qashqai - was being driven along the A39 from the Dunster direction in Minehead between 5.45pm and 5.55pm on Monday (April 27).
"The vehicle turned into Seaward Way, where officers attempted to stop the vehicle.
"However, the driver failed to adhere to the officers' request and continued to drive, turning into Warren Road, where it sped off and was lost to sight."
Police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them on 101 quoting reference 5220092361.
