AS the coronavirus crisis continues, more details of the tragic toll it is taking across the country continue to emerge.

The most stark figures, of course, are of those who have died due to Covid-19-related illness.

It has been difficult to get a coherent picture of just how many people have died as a result of the disease - and where they were from.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has now released provisional counts of deaths related to Covid-19, and where they came from.

The figures related to deaths registered between March 1 and April 17, 2020. So they are more than two weeks behind.

Locations are based on what the ONS calls 'Middle Layer Super Output Areas', which are roughly equatable to council wards.

Your County Gazette has scoured this data to produce an interactive map, allowing readers to view the county numbers.

We hope the number of tragedies revealed will help reinforce the reasons behind lockdown - and help us all stay at home to protect our NHS.

Below is also a table of the number of deaths in each area detailed on the map for those who do not wish to use the map.
