PUBLIC Health England has revealed the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in each district in Somerset.

The figures relate to the 24-hour period up to 5pm yesterday (Tuesday).

A total of 220 have been logged in Somerset West and Taunton, an increase of four on the previous day; 155 in Sedgemoor (no change); 158 (a rise of three) in South Somerset; and 58 in Mendip (an additional one).

There have been 63 deaths in the county from Covid-19.

The total number of cases across the UK now stands at 229,705, while a total of Covid-19 related 33,186 deaths has been recorded in hospitals, care homes and the community.

The total number of cases in the four nations stand at 139,086 in England, with 29,673 deaths; 13,929 in Scotland (1,912); 11,706 in Wales (1,154); and 4,253 in Northern Ireland (447).
