A MINEHEAD man has beaten the boredom of lockdown by creating a sculpture of NHS fundraiser Captain Tom Moore.
Steven Heard, 51, made the figure out of recycled metal.
Mr Heard, who is profoundly deaf and disabled, has been stuck at home for several weeks during lockdown.
He said: "I've made the one-off art of Captain Tom out of recycled metal.
Steven Heard, who has created the sculpture from recycled metal.
"I can't do my community clean ups in Minehead because of lockdown.
"So I started making things out of nothing to keep myself busy and positive."
Captain Tom has received a knighthood for raising almost £40million for the NHS by walking in his garden.
Mr Heard said he would like to send the sculpture to Captain Tom, although he cannot personally afford the delivery fee.
