FIREFIGHTERS from Wellington have assisted a battle against a forest fire over the past seven days.
They have been at the scene of the blaze at Wareham Forest 24 hours a day during that period.
The major incident has seen the forests and heathland in Dorset on fire.
The Wellington firefighters have joined crews from Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire battling to get the fire under control.
A spokesman for Wellington Fire Station said: "Wellington's crew have been at the fire ground 24 hours a day suppling water to the fire ground using over 9km of hose."
