FILM buffs will be able to watch classic movies from the comfort of their cars - and attend dance parties without getting out of their vehicles.

The lockdown entertainment is taking place over three days at Taunton Racecourse this summer.

The movies lined up are Back to the Future, Dirty Dancing, Joker, The Greatest Showman, The Lion King, Grease and Walk the Line.

And you'll be able to tap your feet and hands to an 80s v 90s Drive-in Party and a Drive-In Club Classics.

Events company Adventure Cinema is putting on the event on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, September 1, 2 and 3.

The film showings start at 2pm and 6pm, as well as 9.30pm on the first day, with the music from 9.30pm on the second and third nights.

Adventure Drive-In co-director Ben Lovell said the entertainment, which is being taken to a number of venues across England and Wales, will be "contact free and social distancing friendly", following all government guidelines.

He added: "We are extremely excited to launch our Adventure Drive-In tour and feel that drive-in offers the perfect solution for events when social distancing is required.

"We’ll be using our breadth of experience from the last three years within outdoor cinema, creating a memorable experience for all those who attend.

"Not only do we have some fantastic movies to show, we also have music events that bring you the ultimate in-car party. We cannot wait."

No food and drink will be sold at the racecourse, but people attending will be able to take their own - including popcorn.

The in-car dance parties will include quality visuals on a giant LED screen along with a light show.

Sound will be transmitted via state-of-the-art speakers given to each car upon arrival, allowing passengers to tune into different channels at the flick of a switch.

Tickets at £27.50 plus a booking fee are available at adventuredrivein.co.uk/locations
