AN independent gift shop is re-opening in Taunton tomorrow (Tuesday) - eight days after the owner had wanted to start trading again.
Jane Armour Trading will open its doors to customers in Riverside Place following last week's relaxation of some lockdown measures.
Owner Jane Armour said she had planned to re-open along with other 'non-essential' shops last Monday.
She said: "I am really sorry. I had planed to reopen last Monday, but underestimated how long preparing and re-merchandising would take!"
The shop is on the edge of the multi-million pound Coal Orchard development of shops, flats and leisure facilities currently being built.
There was a welcome visitor there yesterday - a peregrine falcon.
Jane Armour said: "Hurray! I’ve found a positive to having a building site behind the shop - the crane provides a perch for the local peregrine celebrities.
"Got a bit noisy yesterday. The gulls aren’t too happy about their new neighbour!"
