A MAIN road between two towns has reopened a week after it was closed by a massive landslip.
Workers cleared loose material and debris from the B3227 Taunton to Wiveliscombe road yesterday (Wednesday).
The road had been closed at Preston Bowyer the previous Wednesday after trees, vegetation, stones and soil had cascaded onto the carriageway during heavy rain.
The bank was shored up and the road surface cleaned to enable traffic to start moving again along the stretch of road.
A Travel Somerset spokesman said: "The loose material and road debris caused by a landslip last week on the B3227 has now been cleared.
"The road has been pressure washed and has had a good clean up by a road sweeper so that it can be opened."
