A FOUR-year-old with a heart condition has completed an epic run, swim and cycle challenge to thank NHS staff who have cared for him.
Despite having pulmonary stenosis and atrial septal defect, Montague Rogers, from Bathpool, was determined to push himself to fundraise for Love Musgrove.
The Taunton School Nursery pupil's efforts yesterday (Sunday) have raised £500 for Musgrove Park Hospital's official charity.
Monty's grandfather and mother are both seasoned triathletes, while his father is a swimming teacher.
He has swum and run for some time, but only learnt to ride a bike without stabilisers during lockdown.
Monty, whose brother Wilfred, aged one, has also been treated at Musgrove several times for breathing difficulties. said: "I want to help all the people at the hospital as they have been working hard fighting the nasty bug (COVID-19).
"I like swimming, but it’s cold and salty in the sea.
"I like to ride my bike and go running with mummy too."
Monty's scaled down triathlon involved a 100-metre swim, 1k cycle and 500m run.
