PHONE handlers at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a bizarre 999 call this morning (Tuesday).
They were informed that a 40-year-old man was stuck in a drain.
The victim was unable to get out after trying to retrieve a lost ring.
Three fire crews attended the incident in Paignton at 6.18am and found the victim stuck, with his head and shoulders above ground.
He was rescued uninjured, although his pride probably took a battering.
