POLICE have stepped up patrols after a family complained of a flasher.

The culprit exposed himself to the family near a brook in Gate Lane, Wells, on Sunday (June 28) at about 1.30pm.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to help track down the man, who is accused of public indecency.

He is described as white, aged 25 to 30, of average build, with stubble and curly brown hair, which was said to be relatively long.

He was topless and wearing flip flops and blue Hawaiian-style shorts.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "We believe this to be an isolated incident, however the local neighbourhood team have increased patrols in the area as a precaution."
