A CAR was destroyed in a fire last night (Thursday).
A fire crew from Somerton attended the incident in High Ham, near Langport, at around 8.30pm.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "On arrival fire crews confirmed that there was one car well alight and that the fire had began to spread to a hedge.
"Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one thermal image camera and small tools to extinguish the fire and prevent any further escalation.
"The cause of the fire is understood to be accidental."
The vehicle was left partially blocking Turn Hill while awaiting recovery.
