A CHURCH is seeking permission to turn a former chapel and manse into a detached home.
The United Reformed Church has submitted a planning application for the property on Wiveliscombe Road, in Norton Fitzwarren.
The chapel, on a sizeable plot, closed down in 1991, when it, along with the manse, was converted into the URC synod's regional offices.
No internal or external alterations would be needed to convert the Grade II listed building into a three or four bedroom home.
The URC has tried unsuccessfully to sell the property over the past 17 months.
