A SHED was destroyed and a house was damaged after a fire in Burnham-on-Sea.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called at 1.11pm today (July 6) to reports of a shed fire in Elm Avenue.
One fire engine from Burnham-on-Sea and one from Bridgwater were initially sent to the scene.
Fire control received several more calls indicating that the fire had also spread to a car and a house so further fire engines were sent from Burnham and Bridgwater.
On arrival crews confirmed the fire had spread to a car and house.
"Crews extinguished the fire using two main jets, one hose reel jet and a positive pressure fan," the fire service said.
"The shed was totally destroyed and there was 25 per cent fire, 50 per cent heat and 100 per cent smoke damage to the kitchen of the property. The cause of the fire was accidental."
