No further deaths have been reported in Cornwall's hospitals today but the overall figure has risen - and unusually the number of coronavirus cases has actually REDUCED in the last 24 hours.
The reason for this is not entirely clear at the moment, but the Government has readjusted its figures and as of last night the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly now sits at 898 - a drop of one on the previous day.
Across the UK there have now been 290,133 confirmed cases of the virus - a rise of 530 in 24 hours.
The number of hospital deaths in Cornwall related to coronavirus remains at 91 in today's update from NHS England.
This figure has not risen since July 2, when one new death was recorded after exactly a month of no increases.
However, today the Office for National Statistics, which has been collating weekly data for hospitals, care homes and the wider community, confirmed that the overall number of deaths for Cornwall has risen by two during the last week, to 207.
Nationally, a further 26 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,103.
Patients were aged between 49 and 94 years old. One patient aged 71 had no known underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed.
A further deaths have been reported where there was no positive test result for Covid-19 but the virus was recorded on the death certificate as a direct or underlying cause.
There has been one new death reported in the south west region as a whole today.
