A MULTI-storey car park being built at Taunton Station is taking shape.
A section of the metal framework of the stack to the south of the station has already gone up.
And the pedestrian access building can also be seen in these photos.
It is being built on the site of the existing car park, which has been closed during construction, with a temporary car park to the north of the station.
The scheme is part of a multi-million pound development at Taunton Station, where passenger numbers are expected to increase considerably in the coming years..
The project has been underway for months and also includes a new ticket office; extra bike spaces; and an improved bus and taxi interchange.
The main entrance will be relocated from the north to the south side of the station.
The completion date for the station upgrade had been set for later this year.
Great Western Railway is working with Somerset West and Taunton Council and the Heart of South West Local Enterprise Partnership to deliver the scheme, designed to help support the town’s economic development plans.
It will also offer easier access to Taunton town centre and the proposed Firepool development.
