TWO new confirmed Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Somerset in the latest 24-hour period.
There was a positive test for the virus in Somerset West and Taunton and another one in South Somerset in the period to 5pm yesterday (Monday).
The latest Public Health England figures mean the former district has seen five new cases in the past eight days.
On the bright side, there have been no coronavirus linked deaths in the county council area for a number of weeks.
The total number of positive Covid-19 tests in the county now stands at 1,296.
Of those, 125 are in Mendip; 393 in Sedgemoor; 444 in Somerset West and Taunton; and 334 in South Somerset.
