A HORSE trapped in a fence had to be freed by firefighters.
The animal was reported as stuck at around 2.25pm yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.
Firefighters from the Specialist Animal Rescue Unit in Bridgwater attended the incident, in The Causeway, Woolavington.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The specialist animal rescue unit was sent from Bridgwater after Fire Control received a call reporting a horse trapped in a fence.
"On arrival, fire fighters discovered a medium sized horse, distressed and trapped by its hind leg.
"The crew used bolt croppers to cut the horse free, a local farrier was on scene calming the animal and a local vet had been called."
