THE three people in this car had a lucky escape after a tree fell onto the road in West Somerset.
There would have been far more serious consequences had they been at the location a matter of seconds earlier.
Fire crews and police attended the incident on the A396 at Sully Corner, Wheddon Cross Road, at 11.10am yesterday (Saturday).
Reports suggested that three people were trapped inside the car under a fallen tree.
A Minehead Fire Station spokesman said: "On arrival, crews were quickly able to establish with police that there were no serious injuries and in fact the car had missed being fully impacted by about one metre and only pinched by the outer branches.
"All persons had self rescued from the vehicle.
"Fire crews ensured the scene was safe and no further action was required by fire crews.
"The occupants of the car certainly had a lucky escape by a matter of seconds just as the tree fell."
