A STUDENT who lit up Glastonbury Tor has secured a place at a top events academy in London.
Sam Wardell decided to illuminate the popular landmark every Thursday during the height of the coronavirus crisis to show his support for the Clap For Carers initiative.
"I had seen some houses and Windsor Castle had been lit up in blue, so I wanted to do something bigger to show my appreciation for everything the NHS has been doing,” Sam said.
“I’m really lucky to have had the experience at Millfield school, where I discovered my passion for theatre and learned how it all works behind the scenes.
“We had a mobile phone chat for the residents in the close and everyone said they thought it looked nice."
Sam is set to study Events Management at Events Academy in London, and alongside this, has chosen to create his own company.
Working on almost 20 productions throughout his life, Sam has been learning the art of lighting and stage management since 2015 at Millfield Preparatory School.
He studied for three A Levels - in drama, photography and product design.
