TAUNTON Fire Station has released photographs of the heavy goods lorry that left the M5 between Taunton and Wellington this morning (Tuesday).
The lorry shot off the carriageway down an embankment and ended up on its side.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be released by firefighters using small tools.
Police, highways staff and ambulance crews attended the incident on the M5 southbound between Junction 25 (Taunton) and Taunton Deane Services
Traffic was temporarily halted following the incident at around 6am and lane one was closed for a period.
