ASPIRING filmmakers will have the chance to learn from professionals at a Somerset academy.
Somerset Film in Bridgwater is hosting the British Film Institution (BFI) Film Academy this year.
Young people, aged 16 to 19, are being encouraged to apply for the course. They will benefit from mentoring, practical workshops, masterclasses, screenings as well as having the chance to create two short films.
The BFI Film Academy will be working with BAFTA and Pinewood Film Studios to create a training experience which will take place on a variety of dates in October and November.
Chloe, a BFI participant, said: “The academy allowed me to develop knowledge and learn new skills, whilst also gaining vital experience in film making.”
Due to Covid-19, parts of the course will be delivered online, but Somerset Film has made sure participants can still use equipment and enjoy a full day filmmaking.
The academy costs £25, but bursaries are available. The deadline for applications is Thursday, October 8.
