THREE Somerset men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary after a pensioner had money taken from their bank account. 

Avon and Somerset Police received a report of fraud from a bank in Minehead on Tuesday, September 1. 

The victim, who is in their 90's, told police that money had been taken from their bank account without their knowledge. 

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit fraud. They have been released on bail.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said enquiries into the incident are continuing.

"We received a report of fraud from a bank in Minehead on Tuesday, September 1," the police spokesperson said. 

"The victim, who is in their 90's, told police money had been taken from their account which their knowledge.

"Three men - aged 34, 43 and 62 - have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit fraud.

"The 43-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply. The trio have been released on bail.

“Enquiries are continuing.

"We would remind people to keep a close eye on their finances and to never give out any information, such as PIN numbers, which could compromise financial security.
