A LOCAL business has seen a surge in orders after featuring on national TV on Sunday morning.

Darrell Hill, who farms on the Somerset Levels and has a unit in Bristol Road, Bridgwater, was interviewed by Alan Titchmarsh on the Love Your Weekend programme.

Alan quizzed Darrell about the latter's Somerset Willow company during filming, which took place in Hampshire in July.

Darrell's daughter Isabel said: "Alan wanted to showcase our basket weaving.

"During the interview, dad made a trug - a wicket pot to hold flowers or vegetables from the garden.

"Alan was very friendly and down to earth.

"Dad was quite nervous, but he did really well and it gave some good exposure to the industry.

"A lot of people have been commenting on it and we've had some extra order for our garden trugs.

Darrell is a third generation director of the family firm and his son, Anthony, is a fourth generation director.
