AN exciting virtual art event starts this weekend.

Somerset Open Studios starts on Saturday (September 19) with daily events including workshops, demonstrations and talks as well as a digital guide, giving audiences the opportunity to visit artists’ work spaces.

The programme runs until October 4 and starts with and introduction from Somerset Art Works (SAW) patron Kevin McCloud.

The Somerset Reacquainted exhibition at the Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury will launch the digital event.

This features work from 63 Somerset Art Works members who took part in an ‘art in lockdown’ project.

There will be family friendly activities at the weekends including ‘how to’ events and demonstrations as well as a chance to join in with The Big Draw.

Visitors can also arrange trips to the studios by booking an appointment with the artist.
