WE are all supposed to be adults with a good degree of intelligence, not so for the six people together with small children standing in the Morrisons café queue.

It has been opened, yes to make money for Morrisons, but for us to enjoy a meal, cake or drink out after all the shut down in recent months.

There are clear signs on the floor asking people to stick to the distancing guidelines. Were these queuers doing that? By heck no! Of course, a staff member should have asked them to comply but I think they are too scared to say anything. Same at the tills.

The sign at the end asks you to load your shopping on the conveyor belt but to wait until the person in front has paid for their shopping and started to move off. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to ask people to go back.

It is unsettling times but we need to kick this thing. I want to be able to hug my daughter and my grandchildren again without fear. I shudder to think what the parents of those kids in the café queue are telling them. Is it, ‘oh, all the people wearing masks have got bad colds?’.
