EIGHT homes could be built on land in a Somerset village - which is up for sale.

The plot, in Compton Dundon, near Somerset, is described as an 'interesting opportunity to create a select residential site' by development land and planning specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

The Home Farm site, in Compton Street, has detailed planning permission to build a range of eight open-market homes.

"The village sits in a picturesque part of Somerset, overlooked by the Polden Hills to the East and bordering the Somerset Levels to the West," said a GTH spokesperson.

"The proposed scheme is close to the centre of the popular village, which has a range of useful facilities.

"The detailed planning permission granted by South Somerset District Council in December 2019 allows for eight homes – two two-bedroom properties, a three-bedroom home and four four-bedroom dwellings. They will consist of a mix of semi-detached, detached linked and detached properties."

The site is located on the Eastern edge of the village and extends to1.56 acres (0.63 hectares).

It comprises a farmyard with a range of traditional and modern agricultural buildings.

"The seller will demolish the existing farm buildings between the date of exchange of contracts and the completion date of the sale of the site," the spokesperson added.

The existing farmhouse, annexe and Plot 2 are being retained by the vendor and are excluded from the sale.

The deadline for the submission of offers is noon on Friday, November 6, 2020.

A number of viewing dates have been arranged. These are by appointment only and will take place on October 7,14 and 21 between 9am and 11am.
