THIS is the moment a 225 tonne transporter was escorted through Somerset this morning.

The vehicle caused delays for motorists as it travelled along the M5 between junctions 23 and 26.

Police escorted the load today (October 10) from Dunball and it travelled south on the M5 before heading along the A38 to West Buckland, near Wellington.

Onlooker Mitchall Slaney captured the moment the 225 tonne vehicle passed along the motorway with police cars in tow.

Tomorrow (October 11) the vehicle will head back along the A38 to Bishops Hull and Avon and Somerset Police said motorists have been warned that traffic may be held.

Motorists are being advised to consider an alternative route between 8.30am and 10am this weekend as delays are expected.
