A MOTORCYCLIST from Somerset was airlifted to hospital after he sustained 'life-threatening' injuries in a serious crash.
Dorset Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Landshire Lane near to the Gibbs Marsh Trading Estate, in Stalbridge, North Dorset, at 5.49pm on Thursday (October 8).
The crash, which involved a black Nissan Micra and a black Yamaha motorcycle, forced the road to be closed for several hours by police as emergency services attended the scene.
The rider of the motorcycle – a man in his 20s from Somerset – sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.
He remains in hospital in a critical condition and his family has been informed. The driver of the Nissan was uninjured.
The road was reopened at around 1am on Friday (October 9).
