THE owner of a Wellington beauty salon is planning to relocate the business to a garage attached to her home.

Diane Kozaczuk has applied for planning permission to run Top2Toe from her home in Popes Lane, Rockwell Green.

She currently operates from rented accommodation 100 metres away in Rockwell Green Road.

Ms Kozaczuk would open in the converted garage from 9am to 5.30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9.30am to 7pm on Thursdays, 9am to 6.30pm on Fridays and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays.

In her change of use application to planners at Somerset West and Taunton Council, she points out that a number of other businesses are housed in residential streets in Rockwell Green.

She said: "The current salon has a limit on visits each day.

"With one client at a time and a thorough cleaning between clients, the number of visitors is limited to an average of eight per day depending on treatments.

"The proposal will be limited by the same requirements as the current salon and will therefore have a negligible impact on the amenity of the residential area.

"The proposed change of use would allow the currently under utilised garage space, which is too narrow for modern cars, to be used as a beauty salon business."

She added: "The proposal will have a negligible impact on residential amenity as the salon will have one client at a time.

"The change of location will have no effect on client numbers nor client travel patterns but does allow the applicant to work from home."
