A MAN has raised more than £2,750 for charity, after discovering his friends daughter had a rare type of cancer.
Phil Barnett ran 17 miles from Bath to Bristol to raise money for CLIC Sargent, who have been vital in helping Will and Sarah Vine, from Wellington, care for Lily who has Ewing’s Sarcoma.

Mr Barnett said: “All went really well, and the weather even held off! The total raised is now more than £2,750, which is amazing.”
Mr Barnett ran from The Royal Crescent in Bath to Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital.
Jenny Mullen, local CLIC Sargent Fundraising Engagement Manager said: “We are so grateful to Phil for taking on this challenge.
“CLIC Sargent fights tirelessly to limit the damage cancer causes to young lives beyond their health, yet relies entirely on donations and has been heavily impacted by Covid-19.
“We can’t thank Phil enough for his incredible fundraising efforts, as fundamentally it means we are able to provide vital support to more families in their time of need.
“Lily is an incredible smiley and happy child despite her cruel diagnosis. We wish her all the best for her treatment and recovery.”
