LOCATED in the Taunton Independent Quarter, the well-established business has launched a new ecommerce website to help using their click-and-collect service even easier.

To deliver the best of both worlds, traditional self-service inside the shop will continue, alongside a next-day, click-and-collect service via their website, where you can get your hands on everything you need with the simple click of a button.

One of the joys of supporting a local independent is the top notch customer service you can expect.

Asking for unripe bananas or ready to eat avocados is not a problem – just leave a comment in the comments box and one of the Granny Smiths team will happily hand pick your produce so it’s just the way you like it. In addition, to help the environment, they try to avoid plastic packaging wherever possible, preferring to pack items loose or in brown paper bags. All items are then packed into cardboard boxes to make them easy to carry and fully reusable/recyclable. This has proved popular with many customers who find it hard to avoid plastic packaging in larger stores.

All their delicious fruit, vegetables, salads and herbs are hand selected by greengrocers with a wide array of knowledge. All produce is locally bought or supplied daily by an experienced buyer from a wholesale market in Bristol.

Due to the emergence of Covid-19, as well as stocking the usual fruit, vegetables, salad and herbs that you would expect to find in a greengrocers, they have also looked to play their part in supporting the economy.

Newly-added products include rapeseed oil, honey, quince and cider salad dressing, orange and ginger marmalade, garlic mayonnaise, spring waters and preserves, all locally sourced in Somerset.

Additionally, they have recently undergone a shop re-fit to do everything they can to keep both customers and staff members safe, with extra space and storage now available, as well as brand-new lights and a high spec non-slip floor.

So, if you are looking for high-quality fresh fruit and veg at great prices, then look no further than Granny Smiths.
