A CREATIVE youngster from Somerset has scooped a spooky prize this Hallowe'en.

The newly built care home Crandon Springs, in Wells, was a den of ghoulish activity as the pumpkin carving competition got under way.

The Wells community and staff got into the spirit of things, too, as locals were encouraged to enter a pictures of their own pumpkin carving.

After long consideration the staff at Crandon Springs chose an entry by Rudy, a local boy who is clearly very creative!

Rudy was duly rewarded with a sweet treat for taking part in the event.

Home Service Advisor, Bethany Chattwood cackled: “At Crandon Springs we love an opportunity to dress up and celebrate and what better time of the year to do this than Hallowe'en?

"We’ve had a whole range of entries from the local public, all really impressive - it was really hard to judge!”

"We are welcoming new residents into our homes to ensure that we are there for those that need care and support, and have a very clear admission policy and infection control protocols that must be met.

"Please do give us a call on 01749 302592 if you are looking for care or need any further help."

Crandon Springs is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers.
