THERE has been a collision involving two vehicles on the A358 near Taunton.
Police and ambulance attended the scene, near the Thornfalcon junction.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue also attended the incident, which happened around 5pm this evening (November 19).
A spokesperson said: "Fire Control received calls reporting a two vehicle road traffic collision earlier this evening.
"Two fire engines were quickly mobilised from Taunton. Upon arrival, fire crews requested the attendance of a Heavy Rescue Vehicle due to one casualty being trapped within their car. They also requested a further fire engine for man power, which was mobilised from Wellington.
"Fire service personnel successfully extricated one casualty using hydraulic equipment and small tools, who was then transferred to hospital by land ambulance."
The County Gazette has contacted South Western Ambulance Service for comment.
The #A358 Mattocks Tree Hill Eastbound is closed with queueing traffic due to an accident from Glebe Cottages to A378.

This is also causing congestion to the M5 (Blackbrook Roundabout).
