A police hunt has been launched after the theft of five unique and endangered tortoises, one of which was pregnant, from a home in north Kent.
Photos have been released of the animals, which were stolen in New Ash Green, and investigating officers are appealing to anyone with CCTV or information to come forward.
It it alleged that the tortoises were taken from an outbuilding in Colt Stead between Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21.
They are described as being two radiated tortoises, a spider tortoise and two Egyptian tortoises. One of them is pregnant and due to lay eggs very soon.
Police are seeking information or footage which might help them locate the five tortoises, which are classed as endangered.
Residents in the area with doorbell cameras, or other CCTV security devices, are asked to check for any footage which may help the investigation.
Motorists with dashcam, who live nearby, are also asked to check for any evidence of suspicious activity.
