Pop-up shop at World of Temperley Somerset in Ilminster

Alice Temperley has recently opened her World of Temperley in the Somerset town just before the second lockdown.

She is hosting a pop-up event today (December 4) and tomorrow (December 5).

A spokesperson for the World of Temperley said: "We are happy to be reopening on this beautiful winter’s day and look forward to seeing folk in this run up to Christmas!"

The former Gooch and Housego building was renovated by Alice Temperley earlier this year, and there are plans to develop the rest of the building.

Alice said the shop has been really popular since it opened.

"People have driven from the Cotswolds, Cornwall and from London," she said.

"The shop has been much busier than I thought it would be.

"I guess it is because there’s not that many similar things in the community.

"The community itself has been really welcoming, everyone has been happy the building has been brought back to life again."

After growing up in Somerset, Alice is pleased she has come back to her roots.

"I know Somerset inside out," she added.

"I love the seasons, the space, the smell, I love that you can go swimming on the coast, I love being so close to the cider farm."

The pop-up shop will be open from 10am until 6pm tomorrow (December 5).
