FIREFIGHTERS from across Somerset have rushed to a holiday home in the county which has gone up in flames overnight.
The incident was first reported at 2am this morning (December 7), and saw fire fighting teams from Wells, Cheddar, Bridgwater and Avon called to the scene.
They all decended on the holiday property in Wells and began battling the flames.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival, crews reported the building well alight.
"Crews extinguished the fire using six breathing apparatus, two attack jets, one safety jet, one hose reel jet, two thermal imaging cameras, gas monitors, and lighting."
The holiday lodge was completely destroyed in the blaze, the fire service spokesman added, and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
