SHOPPERS visiting Mendip can enjoy free parking from tomorrow (December 17).

MDC are hoping this will encourage people to shop locally and support businesses in the area.

Cllr Josh Burr, portfolio holder for Neighbourhood Services, said: “Mendip District Council is delighted to provide free parking for residents, businesses and visitors in the run up to Christmas.

“We hope it will encourage people to do their essential retail shopping in our district.

Visitors will be able to park for free in all Mendip-owned car parks including, Cranhill Road, Street; St Johns, Glastonbury; Union Street, Wells; Great Ostry, Shepton Mallet; Cattle Market, Frome and more.
