FIRSTLY, how are you feeling? Are you managing ok during this latest lockdown?

Most of my friends feel differently every day. One day feeling ok and the next feeling sad and low. This is perfectly normal.

These are strange days and it is difficult to cope with all the different changes.

Be gentle on yourself. Take a breath. Once you have mastered looking after yourself you can consider how you can help other less fortunate people in your community.

I would ask everyone to use local shops whenever they can. Most are offering click and collect and some are offering delivery too.

If you get good service from a local business, let them know.

If you are on social media, post your positive comments on their social media pages. Your recommendation will help them out so much and encourage others to use their services too. This will help to boost our local economy too.

The Taunton Life App is now available to download from the App stores. Join the thousands of local people who have already downloaded it.

The App now has more than 100 local businesses in their directory. You can search for any category of business you may need. You can be assured that they are genuinely local.

They have also spread out now to include Wellington, Milverton, Wiveliscombe and Bishops Lydeard.

You can access Somerset West & Taunton and ShopAppy straight through the homescreen as well.

Look out for special discounts too. New businesses are joining the app daily and new buttons and features are constantly being added.

I would love it if we could all pause and think about our local doctors, nurses, care staff etc, who are working their socks off to look after us.

They are real life heroes in my mind.

Hopefully, when the pandemic is under control, they can be rewarded in some way.

I wonder what they would appreciate?
