THERE has been a 'serious' road traffic collision in village near Taunton this afternoon (Janaury 14).
Kingston Road, in Kingston St Mary is closed and is affecting the Lodes Lane and Quantock Way junctions in the village.
An air ambulance also landed at the scene.
"Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious collision on Kingston Road, Kingston St Mary, Taunton involving a vehicle and a cyclist at around 12.40pm this afternoon," said a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police.
"A road closure is currently in place while specialist collision investigators carry out enquiries at the scene.
"The road closure affects the Junction of Lodes Lane, Quantock way and about 100yards past the Swan Inn on Kingston Road."
Police cannot yet confirm when the road will re-open.
There are reports of a serious RTC in Kingston St Mary. There is a closure needed, and this will also affect the junctions with Lodes Lane and Quantock Way through the village. It is not known yet when the road will re-open, so when we know more you will 👍
