FOOD Warehouse is set to open its newest store in Weymouth in the next few days.

The supermarket, run by retail giants Iceland, will open inside the former Aldi at Jubilee Retail Park at 8am on Tuesday, January 19.

The retail chain sells frozen, chilled, and fresh food as well as homeware, cleaning products, toys, and alcohol at affordable prices.

Ahead of its opening, here is what you can expect at Weymouth’s newest supermarket.

What is Food Warehouse?

Dorset Echo:

Food Warehouse was formed in 2014 by Iceland Foods and has quickly grown and opened new stores across the country.

The aim of their stores is to offer the wholesale experience, without any membership required and be a place for shoppers to make their weekly shop.

A spokeswoman for Food Warehouse said customers can make savings with bulk deals where savings are passed directly onto shoppers.

There are also special ‘When It’s Gone, It’s Gone’ offers too, where customers can purchase selected homeware lines at a bargain price.

When Food Warehouse will open and close

The store will be opening for the first time at 8am on Tuesday, January 19.

Food Warehouse will be open from 8am to 8pm between Monday and Saturday and between 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Red and white branded boarding has been installed around the front of the supermarket, promising customers “big deals, choice, and packs” at Food Warehouse.

Their stores are typically quite spacious, with rows of low aisles so items are easy to spot from afar and are more accessible to access.

There will also be aisles dedicated to homeware, cleaning products, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages.

Will social distancing measures be in place?

Ahead of its opening, a spokeswoman for Food Warehouse said that they are not encouraging customers to gather outside the store.

The store will comply with the guidelines and all social distancing measures, such as shoppers staying two metres apart, must wear face coverings, and gel their hands upon entry.

You can get £5 off

Dorset Echo:

If you’re looking for a bargain on your weekly shop, you are in luck.

Residents around Weymouth have been sent a flyer advertising the products that are on offer, which also includes a £5 voucher off any shopping that costs more than £40.

The voucher is valid until February 19 and will only be accepted at this store.

How many jobs have been created?

It will create 30 jobs as Food Warehouse previously recruited new employees to work part time and full-time including home delivery drivers, team leaders, retail assistants and online shopping pickers.
