A MAN who lost his life in the River Tone in Taunton at the weekend has been named.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of Martyn Steven Roy Cridland.
Mr Cridland, who was 61, lived in Taunton.
His body was recovered from the Tone between Obridge and Creech Castle on Sunday afternoon (January 10).
Police were called to the scene at 9.15am and the area was cordoned off while an investigation took place.
Mr Cridland's body was found just after 1pm and police said at the time they were not treating his death as suspicious.
The inquest has been adjourned to an internal case management review on or before April 15.
