WE’RE delighted that the YMCA Taunton has been chosen to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund.

At a time when funds for community groups and charitable organisations are becoming more difficult to access, we’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity to make a real difference in Taunton.

We’re raising funds to provide a safe space for young people to get off the streets, enjoy various activities and gain skills, while accessing support such as mental health, employment, substance abuse and sexual health.

We are based in a deprived area in Taunton. We bring meaningful change to children, families and the community by developing innovative, inclusive, community-based solutions to social issues.

We actively support children, young people and families by providing community based activities and services which meet local needs enabling all to thrive and helping to transform lives for the better.

Our sessions will be open to all young people in the community from all backgrounds, abilities and genders – we massively encourage community spirit.

Our young people also carry out local projects benefitting the wider community, such as baking cakes for the local nursing and care homes, planting community orchards and herb gardens, litter picks, and preparing community meals and food parcels.

To help us raise vital funds, we’ll be relying on Co-op members.

When a member buys selected branded products and services, the Co-op will give a helping hand to local causes like ours.

Co-op members can select us as their local cause by visiting the website here

We really hope that people will visit the Co-op website or download the Co-op app and select us as their local cause.
