THERE were 245 positive Covid-19 tests in Somerset in the latest 24-hour figures released by the Government.
While the rolling seven-day infection rate for the county has fallen in all four districts, the number of new confirmed cases rose by between 40 and 95 in the districts.
In Somerset West and Taunton there were 95 positive tests, taking the overall total since the start of the pandemic to 4,077.
South Somerset had 52 positive tests (overall 3,598); There were 58 new confirmed cases in Sedgemoor (overall 3,712); and Mendip had 40 positive tests (overall 2,299).
The latest rolling seven-day infection rates, with the previous day's total in brackets, are: South Somerset 268.5 per 100,000 of population (286.3); SWT 343.6 per 100,000 (369.4); Sedgemoor 365.3 (399.4); Mendip 272.5 (282.9).
