A SOMERSET town is hosting an event which will turn the streets into a outdoor gallery.

Frome Window Wanderland is running for the fourth year in a row and encourages residents to make displays in their windows for people to enjoy.

The organisers, supported by Frome Town Council (FTC) and Black Swan Arts, are hoping to get more households to sign up this year.

"We grow in numbers year on year and we were blown away by the brilliant window displays for the Halloween Window Wanderland," said Claire from the team at Window Wanderland.

"It is so simple to take part, it's free and everyone is welcome. You can make a display in the windows of your flat, house, business, school, nursery, car, campervan, shop – or in your front garden!

"It can be as simple as fairy lights or as elaborate as your imagination takes you."

Postscript on Stony Street are offering 10 per cent discount on materials brought for resident's window displays.

Cllr Andy Wrintmore, from FTC, said the event is always "well-embraced" by the town.

"It is truly magical to tour the streets to see the wonderful creative efforts by those taking part," he said.

"Particularly in these darker months and during Covid, it brightens up our daily exercise while enabling socially distancing.

"I, for one, am particularly looking forward to it and will be putting on my creative thinking cap to come up with a window display!"

To take part in the event, which is held on Friday, February 26 until Monday, March 1 between 5:30pm and 9pm, visit: www.windowwanderland.com/event/frome-2021/
